Coffee Cup Comments

Quiet markets on the overnight as the market is preparing for a 3-day Holiday weekend. Initial sell of in corn and wheat yesterday led by headlines that Russia was working to open Ukraine ports for exports. Of course, this was only if sanctions are lifted which is unlikely to happen anytime soon. The push-pull headline stories will continue. Soybeans surged higher yesterday on additional fund buying before the weekend. Export sales report yesterday was on the lower end of expectations. The USDA will let some farmers plant on acres that had been designated as part of CRP. Not sure it makes a lot of difference considering it is almost June 1st and getting near the end of the planting period anyways.  Look for choppy trade today as traders will wait on the weekend weather and next week news stories to make their next move. Have an excellent weekend!
