On Friday, April 16th, Premier Cooperative, Inc. visited with Amy Rademaker, Program Coordinator of the Carle Center for Rural Health & Farm Safety and Julianna Sellett, Vice President of Community Health Initiatives. Tim Hughes, CEO of Premier Cooperative, Inc. presented them with a $10,000.00 check to support their program, Sewing Seeds of Wellness-Mental Health Outreach in Rural IL. This outreach effort will have three programs focused on the mental health of farmers, their families, support and training for rural faith community leaders and a campaign to work on the stigma of mental health.
Premier Cooperative, Inc. takes a vested interested in supporting its local community and agriculture efforts, and is proud to support the programs the Center offers to their community.
“Carle Health is so grateful to Premier Cooperative, Inc. and CHS, Inc. for recognizing the importance of mental health and for this donation. These funds will be used to support initiatives such as virtual Mental Health First Aid Classes and other online programming farmers and their families can use independently when needed. If we can talk openly about mental health on farms and how friends and family can support their loved ones, we will make great strides in overall health and wellbeing in the agriculture sector,” Rademaker said.
